Ski Season is here
It may not be something you’ve considered before, but for fashion’s sake, I recommend you build it into your calendar. Ski season is here to keep your winter days bright and glistening!
If hitting the slopes is not on your agenda this year, you can still pretend! Have a look at the daywear sections of our mood boards below to see how you can incorporate ski season into your style this year, whilst keeping nice and toasty inside. Stick on Chalet Girl, prep some cheese fondue, get your Toolally on and embrace the ski season your own way.
If you are getting set to shred some snow, you’ve got outfits to plan! Whether you’re a daring daffy, pulling off stunts left right and centre, or if you’re like me and tend to spend most of your time ambling down the mountain and falling over and struggling to stand up again and being sat on the floor for ages because skis are SLIPPERY and mountains are STEEP… you’d better be doing it in a fabulous fit!
See below for a few outfit put-togethers with Toolally for this ski season. Which skiing archetype are you?
The Cool Cruiser
She spends her days moseying around the mountain and testing out all the coffee stops. She’s a fabulous skier, although she’s not great at getting on and off the ski lifts, so chalet time is spent getting cosy with a movie and nurturing collateral bruises.
The Cool Cruiser shows her love for the sport by wearing a pair of classic Snow Kisses in sterling silver and CZ, and a matching snow kiss pendant in sterling silver. These pieces all come from our Apres Ski collection. The snow kisses represent a pair of crossed skis in the snow, which is exactly how she leaves hers while supping a hot chocolate in the Coffee Cabin.
The Off-piste Princess
All you catch is a glimmer of pink racing down the wild side of the mountain. She’s not one to catch the gondola to the bottom - she skis right til the sun sets and then you’ll find her out partying at the cocktail bars. No rest for the wicked, although she’s definitely giving more Glinda than Elphaba.
Even in the midst of winter, the Off Piste Princess keeps the sun shining with a sunburst pendant in pink mother of pearl. Carrying the pink and white theme well into the evening, she opts for classic Toolally pearls, dazzling the room with the Diana Pearl Choker and a flower pearl bracelet in pink.
The Daring Daffy
You’re hopping off the chair lift with her one second, blink, and she’s mid-backflip off the highest jump at the resort. She’s a flipping circus act on the slopes, and you worry for her safety at times, but somehow she always ends up at the pub in one piece at the end of the day. Maybe she’s a thrill seeker, maybe it’s Dutch courage, but she definitely makes the girls' ski trip interesting.
Daring by slope and by style, The Daring Daffy reminds herself to bring her eye protection by putting on a Mood Pendant Necklace in the morning. Her après ski attire is super cool with a big blue fluffy coat and art deco chandeliers in arctic blue.
The Slick Snowboarder
There’s always got to be one, hasn’t there? Opting for board over skis. But the slick snowboarder is a stunting queen, so we’ll forgive her. You’ll find her competing for sickest flip with the Daring Daffy - but who looks cooler doing it? We’ll let you decide…
Out on the snow she partners Bubble Beats in gold vermeil with a signature red and black outfit. You won’t be losing her anytime soon with that iconic zebra print snowboard! Après ski, you’ll find her chilling at the coffee shop, or at the chalet with her pals. She’s definitely a member of the beats and bolts club, with a pair of statement enamel bolts in orange to seal the deal.
The Double Black Diamond
She’s nothing short of an ice queen, and definitely best-dressed on the mountain. The Double Black Diamond is the posh spice of the ski resort girl gang, if you will. She loves a challenge, and you’ll catch her at the top of the most terrifying slope, but she can’t afford to fall over and damage those Chanel skis, so she just… doesn’t?
The Arrowheads are the way to go for the Double Black Diamond. A sprinkling of sparkly cz pave makes the arrowhead pendant glisten off the snow. The Double Black Diamond stays on brand, and doubles her diamonds in the evening, après ski, with a pair of statement arrowhead earrings. Catch her in the most lavish bar in town with her girlfriends, sipping espresso martinis all night long.
I hope this has helped with your outfit inspo for the upcoming ski season. Whether you’re carving the powder this year or not, it’s always fun to dress up!
If you are going away on a winter break. Keep an eye out for our Ski Jewellery Packing Edit. It’s full of tips and tricks to keep your favourite pieces safe and sparkly on the slopes.
See you there! (Please don’t leave me stuck struggling on the moguls.)
