Summer Jewellery: The Holiday Edit

Summer Jewellery: The Holiday Edit
Leela Harrison

Creating a capsule holiday wardrobe is easier said than done. Nobody wants to be that person at the airport check-in desk frantically repacking to avoid excess baggage charges but, when the holiday arrives, you want to look and feel your best. Even with a minimal wardrobe, you can still look on point for any occasion by styling your outfit like a pro.

Here’s our round-up of catwalk-inspired looks and classic items for your jewellery edit, helping you to travel light without compromising on style.

Key Jewellery Trends 2024

  • Beachy boho: A trending style that’s hard to miss on social media, the ocean inspires this summer’s jewellery. Think seashells, pearls, starfish and crabs. Whether it’s large shell pendants or cute conch shell studs or contemporary twists on a classic pearl twinset, this look is of the moment.

Here’s our pick:

Flower Pearl Choker - Sienna Red

Flower Pearl Choker, £150: This delicate choker with flower detail is available in 5 colour options and with matching bracelet and earrings for a coordinated look.

  • Statement pendants: Stones and sculptural shapes suspended by long chains or leather cord become the centrepiece of fashion-forward outfits this summer. A great option for day-to-night transformations, a simple linen shirt can be transformed from beach cover-up to understated chic with a statement necklace.

Here’s our pick:

Toolally Flameball Pearl Necklace

Combine two trends in one with the limited edition Flameball Baroque Pearl Necklace, £270, or the Sunburst Pendant featuring mother of pearl, £125. The Flameball pendant features a large, luminous pearl that hangs from a 20” paperclip chain and has matching earrings available. An Instagram favourite.

  • Black and gold: Contrast summer neutrals with the drama of black and gold jewellery. Turn heads with statement earrings or a bold cuff.

Here’s our pick:

Flower Chandelier Earrings - Black & White

Our lightweight Flower Chandelier Earrings, £85, nod to the black and gold trend with a sixties look that is perfect for party nights. For daytime chic, the Mary Quant-inspired Flower Pearl Huggie Earrings, £55, are a more discreet option. Or, go large and let the black Crescent Hoop Earrings, £45, do the talking with a wearable version of the luxurious catwalk trend.

  • Asymmetry:
  • Bang on trend without being too try-hard, the asymmetrical trend is a great option for the playful. Mix and match earring styles or opt for a perfectly imperfect mismatched pair and have them do a double-take.

    Here’s our pick:

Asymmetric Ellipse Earrings - Gold Vermeil

The gold vermeil Asymmetrical Ellipse Earrings, £315, are decadent yet edgy. They’re designed to accentuate the jawline and, paired with a simple evening outfit, are effortlessly chic. For a fun twist on the trend, you can get creative with our Single Emoji Hoop Earrings, £55. We love pairing Flirty and Cheeky to keep them guessing.

    Jewellery Staples

The fashion crowd know to mix high fashion with classic pieces. When it comes to your holiday jewellery, combine statement, trend-led pieces with simple classics and, perhaps, a little bit of personality too.

We love this chunky chain that elevates a simple outfit into a pulled-together look. Another option for quick and easy glam is to add classic hoop earrings, like this retro pair, layered necklaces or stacked rings. Our favourite pick is the Punctuation Stacker Ring available in gold, £75, or silver, £60.

Staple pieces in mixed metallic finishes are a great way to show off a holiday tan. Try a little arm candy with this Double Hoop Cuff Bracelet, £195, in sterling silver and cubic zirconia for a bit of glitz. Catch the evening sunlight with these shimmering Triangle Stud Earrings, £25, in gold vermeil and cubic zirconia.

And, if you want to embrace the holiday vibe and shake off your usual style, embrace pops of colour as a way to experiment and have fun. We love these enamel Bolt Earrings in tropical hues of pink, lime green and orange, £47.50.
